The ASI 8358 Fold-up Bath Tub Seat is a tough, retractable seat that spans the tub like a bench. It's 15 inches deep and made of 1/2-inch thick ivory phenolic. It extends 33-3/4 inches from the wall, fitting most standard bathtubs. The seat frame is 1-inch diameter 18-gauge stainless steel tubing, and the mounting straps are 1-inch wide 12-gauge stainless steel. The seat has polyurethane rubber cushion grip-pads to prevent slipping and protect the tub. When installed correctly, it can support up to 500 pounds, meeting ADA accessibility guidelines.
Specification: The frame is 1-inch diameter (Ø25) 18-gauge stainless steel tubing with 1-inch (25) wide 12-gauge seat mounting straps, all type 304 alloy 18-8 with a satin finish. Seat slats are 1/2-inch (13) thick solid phenolic, ivory-white on top and bottom with black edges. Mounting and retainer brackets are 8-gauge stainless steel with countersunk holes for №10 flat head screws. The structure is welded, with radiused and deburred edges. Mounting brackets are fixed to the seat frame. Polyurethane rubber cushion grip-pads are on the frame parts that touch the tub. The wall-mounted retainer hook holds the seat when not in use and is supplied loose.
Installation: Mount the unit on the surface as shown in the diagram. The installer must provide concealed anchor plates or blocking as per construction documents or local building codes before wall finishing and prepare the wall for bracket fasteners. Fasten the mounting brackets to the anchor or blocking plate with proper hardware. Place the unit over the tub with the mounting bracket knuckle 1/8 - 1/4 inch (3 - 6 mm) above the tub so the seat frame cushion grip-pads rest on the tub rim.
Strength: ASI Tub Seats meet and exceed California Building Code and ADAAG requirements. They can support a 250-pound (113.4 kg) load and conform to size and edge clearances. Wall mounting is crucial, and the fastener system must be properly sized with appropriate wall reinforcements. The unit can support 500 pounds when installed correctly.
Operation: You can use one hand to lower the seat to the horizontal position for sitting or raise it when leaving or arriving. The retainer bracket with a heavy wire detent keeps the seat from dropping.

Using the ASI 8358 Fold-up Bath Tub Seat is a breeze. Just use one hand to lower it to the horizontal position when you want to sit in the tub, and raise it when you're done. It's designed to fit most standard bathtubs, thanks to its 33-3/4-inch extension from the wall. When installing, make sure to follow the instructions and use the right hardware to ensure it can support up to 500 pounds. The seat has grip-pads to prevent slipping and protect the tub. To maintain it, just wipe it clean with a mild soap and water. Keep an eye on the fasteners and check for any signs of wear over time. The wall-mounted retainer hook can be used to store the seat when not in use.
