OPERATION:
Manually raise the swing-up grab bar when approaching or leaving and lower it to the horizontal position for support. Once fully upright, the counterweighted design keeps it from falling back down.
STRENGTH:
When properly installed, the swing-up grab bar can support loads over 500 pounds (227 kg). Remember, its strength depends on the anchors and walls. If it's not firmly secured or there's weld damage, take it out of service to avoid injury.
INSTALLATION:
Before finishing the wall, provide a concealed anchor device or backing as per local building codes. Then fasten the grab bar to it. Note that concealed anchor devices and mounted screws aren't included and need to be ordered as optional accessories.
