Standard clearance is 1.5 inches, and the required mounting height is 33 to 36 inches from the top of the grab bar gripping surface to the finish floor. The 36-inch horizontal grab bar should be installed on the back wall, and the 42-inch one on the side wall or partition stall. Screws are not included. These grab bars are designed and tested to meet or exceed HUD, HEW, FHA, VA, and other Federal, State, and local codes, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
