The ASI 3550-P is a great horizontal grab bar. It has a 1.5-inch diameter and a peened gripping surface, sized at 24 inches by 36 inches. Crafted from 18-gauge stainless steel tubing with a lovely satin finish, it resists fingerprints while looking shiny. At each end and angle, there's a 3-inch diameter flange made of type-304, 11-gauge stainless steel, herliarc welded to the tubing. Each flange has three 7/32-inch countersunk, predrilled holes for No. 10 self-tapping or oval head mounting screws (not included). Holes are placed every 120 degrees for a secure installation. Once mounted, the hardware is fully exposed. It meets or exceeds ADA grab bar requirements.
Using this grab bar is easy. First, find a suitable location on the wall. Then, use the predrilled holes in the flanges to install it with No. 10 self - tapping or oval head mounting screws (you'll need to get these on your own). Make sure the holes are aligned properly to ensure a secure fit. When using the grab bar, hold it firmly by the peened surface for a good grip. For maintenance, just wipe it with a soft cloth regularly to keep the satin finish looking great. Avoid using abrasive cleaners as they might damage the surface.
