The ASI 3401-48P is a great straight grab bar. It's 1-1/4 inches in diameter and 48 inches long. The peened surface offers a nonslip grip. Crafted from 18-gauge stainless steel tubing with a lovely satin finish, it resists fingerprints while still looking shiny. Each end has a 3-inch diameter flange made of type-304 stainless steel, herliarc welded securely to the tubing. Inside each flange, there are three 7/32-inch diameter countersunk, predrilled holes, spaced about every 120 degrees. These holes are for No. 10 self-tapping or oval head mounting screws (not included). After installation, the mounting hardware stays exposed. This grab bar meets or exceeds ADA requirements.
Using the ASI 3401 - 48P grab bar is easy. First, find a suitable location on the wall where you need support. Use the predrilled holes in the flanges to mark the spots for the screws. Then, drill holes in the wall and insert the screws (you'll need to buy them separately). Attach the grab bar to the wall. Make sure it's firmly in place. When using it, hold it firmly to keep your balance. As for maintenance, simply wipe it with a soft, damp cloth to keep it clean. Avoid using abrasive cleaners as they might damage the satin finish. Check the screws regularly to ensure they're tight. If you notice any looseness, tighten the screws right away. This will ensure the grab bar remains safe and useful for a long time.
